The prefecture consists of the islands of Samos, Ikaria and Fournoi.
Samos is an island that combines historic mountain landscapes, beautiful beaches and many attractions.
The cave of Pythagoras, the Genoese Castle, Tower Lycurgus and the temple of Hera, are some of the many places worth visiting in Samos.
In the town, located on the east side of the island you will find everything … entertainment, dining and shopping for all tastes. Northwest of the island is the second largest city Karlovasi and the famous beach, frequented by seals Monachus monachus. Southwest of Samos, at the foot of Kerki mountain, is Marathokampos, a place with clean beaches, unique natural landscapes and organized tourist infrastructure. Near the town of Samos is Kokkari, a picturesque village that offers a more relaxed holiday.
Ikaria is a mountainous island with steep green hills and beautiful beaches. On the island you will find many monuments. The ancient city of Nas, the ancient capital of Oenoe, Castle Koskina and many monasteries.
The island Fournoi, is a virgin island with many beaches where you can see beautiful creeks and crystal clear waters.
