Råde  Norway

Råde muncipality has approximately 6.900 inhabitants and covers a area of 118,6 km2. Farming and forestry have always been important for settling and employment in Råde. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Karlshus. The neighbouring municipalities are Rygge, Våler, Sarpsborg, and Fredrikstad. There are four major villages in the municipality is Karlshus, Saltnes, Missingmyr and Slangsvold.

Saltnes is located by Krogstadfjorden, an arm of the Oslofjord and a small part of Saltnes is located in Fredrikstad. Saltnes has in the last ten years become more and more popular to stay in. The most popular swimming beach is at Saltholmen, which has many visible signs of the Ice Age.
