The language used in Turkey is Turkish. It belongs to the Ural-Altaic language group originated from Central Asia. Its origin is the region in the Altai mountains, an area where today’s Russian Federation, Chinese, Mongolian, and Kazakhstan territories meet. The alphabet is based on the Latin script with 29 letters. The difference from the English alphabet is the addition of some letters, such as İ, ı, Ö, ö, Ü, ü, Ç, ç, Ğ, ğ, Ş, and ş and removing some others such as q, w, and x.
