The pretty and popular coastal town of Scarborough is a perfect place for visitors to come and enjoy the wonderful beaches, stunning views and the breathtaking North York Moors. Walking is particularly good in this area with a wealth of signed routes including the Cleveland Way which passes through some of the most spectacular countryside.
The town itself is a bustling seaside resort with all the traditional amenities you would expect. There are plenty of shops, lots of entertainment and places to eat and drink including the Brunswick Centre which is located in the centre of the town. The shopping centre and surrounding streets have everything from independent boutiques to well known high street chains. Accommodation is widely available from B&Bs to up market hotels, many with stunning sea views.
For family entertainment there are four theatres, Peasholm Park which holds open air concerts in the summer months and the Spa Complex, home to the last seaside orchestra. There are lots of activities to interest children with amusement parks, the Atlantis Water Park and nearby modern history war museum at Eden Camp. A nostalgic trip on the North York Moors Railway offers a chance to relax and take in the wonderful scenery and maybe visit some of the other towns in the area.
Scarborough is also ideal for a spot of sea fishing, with anglers often seen along the promenade at high tide.
