Scenic Hawes is Yorkshire’s highest market town and is situated in delightful Upper Wensleydale on the Pennine Way, one of England’s best known National Trails. Surrounded by breathtaking countryside it is a haven for walkers, cyclists and climbers.

A popular place for visitors, Hawes has plenty of interesting attractions to offer, including the famous Wensleydale Cheese (where visitors can observe cheese making demonstrations), the traditional craft of rope making, pottery throwing or visit the Dales Countryside Museum.

Tuesday is market day, when the town itself takes on a lively and bustling atmosphere. There are plenty of interesting shops to explore or visitors can take refreshment at one of the many tea rooms and coffee shops and just sit and watch the world go by.
Hawes has a wide variety of places to stay including a traditional working sheep farm offering bed and breakfast facilities in a peaceful location, there are also many hotels and guest houses in and around the town.
