With its extensive stretches of beach and rich heritage Filey is a beautiful tourist destination with a friendly atmosphere, perfect for a day visit or a longer stay.
The centre of the town is lovely to stroll around with a mix of elegant Victorian houses and picturesque fisherman’s cottages. Filey has all the amenities you’d expect from a small seaside resort mixed in with a few eclectic shops to pick up souvenirs.
There are lots of activities to enjoy at this coastal resort. The town is fantastically unsullied by modern influence and this is reflected in the towns annual Edwardian Festival, a week long look back in time with period costume and Punch and Judy shows but all year round visitors can learn about the history of the town at the Filey Museum.
As for those who prefer active pursuits surfing, yachting, fishing, bird watching and golf are all on offer in this beautiful town and visitors can also explore Bridlington and Scarborough, which lie in close proximity to Filey.
