Carnforth UK

Situated in the lake district of UK and close to the coast on the river Keer, the town of Carnforth has become famous for its impressive railway station, which was used for the setting of the film Brief Encounter. For railway enthusiasts parts of the station which were closed down have recently been renovated by the Carnforth Station Trust. The West Coast Rail Company still continue to carry out work on steam locomotives in the old buildings.

The town has many old buildings and places of interest to be explored. For visitors there are many individual shops a market square and plenty of places to stop and eat.

Peaceful and quiet, located in wonderful countryside and regarded as part of the gateway to the Lake District, Carnforth is ideal for exploring everything the area has to offer. Surrounded by excellent walks, nature trails and beautiful scenery you can experience the best of the great outdoors.

Morcambe Bay is within easy visiting distance and the RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss is well worth a tour. Docker Park Farm visitor centre is just 4 miles away, as is Lancaster Maritime Museum.
