Kvinesdal muncipality in Norway has approximately 5.850 inhabitants and covers a area of 962,8 km2 in Vest Agder. A town nestling inside the Fedafjorden fjord with Liknes community centre. Every summer thousands of people are attracted here by the large emigrant festival and the religious events in Sarons Dal. Inland lies Knaben, a piece of Norwegian mining history. Here you can find many remains from the era when this was a living community, whose primary industry was the large molybdenum mine.
In the mountain side up towards Kvinesheia, with its wonderful open countryside, lies Utsikten with its panoramic views of the Fedafjorden. Along the Fedafjorden you can see the well preserved village of Feda, where the working cooper´s shop is one of the main attractions.
UTSIKTEN
The view is the most beautiful and impressive along the whole length of the E18 between Stockholm and Stavanger. Just above Utsikten at Sveien/Kvinesheia the E18 reaches its highest point above sea level.
BØKKERBUA
An old cooper´s shop by the sea, where the art of making barrels in the old traditional manner is kept alive by young people in the summer. The barrels are for sale.
KNABEN
Knaben lies 900 – 1000 metres above sea level. The barren peak forms superb walking country in all seasons. There are signposted footpaths and ski areas for children and adults.
KNABEN MINING MUSEUM
Knaben Gruver was the largest molybdenum mine in Northern Europe when it was closed down in 1973. Today it is in the process of being restored as a mining community. A mining museum is being established and the mine itself will be opened. Knaben is a wonderful wild mountain area Iying at a height of between 900 and 1,000 metres.

GOLF
Overlooking the town of Kvinesdal and the magnificent, wild Fedafjord, this is a particularly beautiful woodland golf course. Even by golfing standards, the setting is fabulous: the wild forest and the edge of the moors on one side, the fjord and the ocean on the other. Spectators have been known to include the occasional moose or roe-deer – all part of the backwoods experience when you play a round of golf at Kvinesdal. Kvinesdal Golfclub is a golf course with 18 holes and a variation of difficulties. Highway E39, Southern Norway´s main transport artery linking Kristiansand and Stavanger, runs right past Kvinesdal & Omegn Golf Club´s course at Skaren. The Skaren course is considered fairly demanding, with gently undulating terrain and a number of natural hazards. Skaren Golfpark lies approximately 2 km from Utsikten.
