Aurskog-Høland Norway

Aurskog-Høland muncipality in Norway has approximately 13.300 inhabitants and covers a area of 961,0 km2. Farming and forestry have always been important for settling and employment in Aurskog-Høland. Bjørkelangen is the muncipality civic centre. The main attractions are Aur Churchyard, The Aurskog-Høland Rural Museum, Hemnes Old Churchyard, Løken Farm Museum, the Soot canal, the Toverud stone monument, Urskog Fort and the electrical car Think.

The most important motorways and main roads to and from the whole of Norway go through Akershus. Travelers by train, coach, car and boat to and from the area around Oslo have to pass through Akershus. There is a very good public transport system carrying large numbers of passengers between Akershus and the surrounding area daily, facilitating travel around the county. This provides an alternative to the big city, whether it’s for just an afternoon trip or a longer stay. You can get to all parts of Akershus within one hour from the centre of Oslo. The most modern airport in Europe lies in Akershus Oslo International Airport Gardermoen.

LØHREN FARM MUSEUM

Løhren Gårdsmuseum is a privatly owned collection of agricultural tools and domestic utensils that give visitors a facinating insight into the development of farming and rural life through the ages. The Løhren´s collection includes hand tools, hores livery, threshing equipment and several veteran tractors. Løhren farm also has one of the country´s oldest repers from around 1880. The museum organises activity days where the old tools and equipment are put to use!

GOLF

Aurskog-Finstadbru Golfclub is an easy-going 18-hole course with short distances from hole to hole. The course is a reasonably flat, scenic, rural and great course with good greens in good harmony with nature, fauna and the environment. The track is located no more than 45 minutes from “down town” Oslo, 25 minutes north/east of Lillestrøm. .
