Keswick in the Lake district of the UK has a great deal to offer tourists and visitors, who often return year after year drawn by the beautiful scenery and unique atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll around Derwentwater or an invigorating walk in the mountains of Skidaw and Blaencathra, a meander through the lovely shops on Market Street or a well earned rest in one of the many tea rooms or coffee shops.
Activity seekers can hire canoes and explore the Lake District’s widest lake, Derwentwater. Maybe cycle along the old railway tracks and down the banks of the river Greta, or try some Mountain biking around Skiddaw, home to an impossibly challenging annual fell race. Rock climbing and fell walking in Borrowdale are very popular, and the impressive Lodore falls which drop 100 feet in places are a must see attraction.
Two lovely parks, Hope Park by the lake and Fitz Park bordered by the river Derwent, with putting greens, tennis, bowls and an adventure playground are ideal for families. On rainy days there is a modern swimming pool, two climbing walls, the Pencil museum and James Bond museum as well as the “Cars of the Stars” museum where you can see famous cars from the films Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Harry Potter.
Relax and picnic by the lake or take a pleasure steamer across the water, visit Stone circles, shop to your hearts content, enjoy a little drama in the “Theatre by the Lake” or within a short distance of here you can walk, cycle or drive through the most stunning scenery in England.
