The ancient market town of Hebden Bridge is located in Calderdale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and was once famous for its textile and clothing manufacturing industry.
The surrounding countryside is a haven for walkers, cyclists and climbers with its steep cliffs and deep valleys, the dramatic Hardcastle Crags attract many visitors and there are several organised and way marked walks to follow.
Rochdale Canal passes through the town and brings in visitors from their colourful narrow boats as they pass by. The town holds an annual arts festival, which takes place every year in the late spring and attracts visitors from far and wide.
There are many individual and specialist shops to be explored around the town and there is also a Thursday Market, a twice monthly Farmers Market and a Wednesday Flea Market where locally made goods and produce are on sale.
